The Berlin Circle is an informal seminar aimed at exploring complex ideas across all facets of life, drawing on research data and philosophical literature.

Each month, we select a topic, create a list of suggested readings (which is always open to your contributions), and invite you to read and discuss with us.

Our aim is to foster a safe and inclusive environment where every voice enriches the collective understanding.

Code of Conduct
At The Berlin Circle, we strive to create a space of mutual respect, openness, and thoughtful exchange. To ensure that every participant feels welcome and that our conversations remain meaningful, we ask everyone to follow these guiding principles:

  1. Respect all participants.
Treat others with courtesy and consideration, even when opinions differ. Personal attacks, sarcasm, or dismissive behavior are not acceptable.

  2. Come prepared and informed.
We aim to deepen our understanding through informed discussion. Reading and preparation are an essential part of participation. Personal experiences and reflections are always welcome, especially when they complement or enrich the ideas drawn from the readings.

  3. Use inclusive and considerate language.
Avoid offensive, discriminatory, or stigmatizing remarks related to race, gender, sexuality, ability, religion, or any other identity.
  4. Listen actively and avoid interruptions.
Allow others to finish their thoughts before responding. Discussion thrives when everyone has space to speak and be heard.

  5. Engage with ideas, not individuals.
Debate and disagreement are welcome, but focus on the content of arguments rather than personal characteristics or motivations.

  6. Be open-minded and curious.
Approach new perspectives with a willingness to learn and understand, even if you disagree.

  7. Maintain confidentiality.
What is shared in the group stays within the group unless explicit permission is given to share elsewhere.

  8. Contribute constructively.
Support an atmosphere of thoughtful inquiry: ask questions, share insights, and help others feel valued in the conversation.

By participating, you agree to uphold these principles so that The Berlin Circle remains a respectful, inclusive, and intellectually engaging space for learning and dialogue.
